Ontario’s provincial government announced a plan to increase minimum wage to $14 an hour by January 1, 2018, and then to $15 the following January. It’s a massive shock for businesses across the province, especially small businesses. Minimum wage is currently $11.40.
The obvious implication? Labour will cost you a lot more. You didn’t need us to tell you that.
What will you do in response… Up your prices? Reduce hours? Cut corners?
